Pay-Per-Click Search Via YouTube
Marketing TacticsYou can now bid on keywords for YouTube videos on a pay-per-click basis. For example, if you upload a video to YouTube that promotes your software or other type of product, you can drive traffic to your video and generate clicks and sales through your website. Why is this worthwhile? In addition to potential new user exposure, the pay-per-click rates on your top keywords for YouTube searches are likely to be far lower through this medium because of the temporary lack of competition for video keywords.

You can sign up through AdWords or just through YouTube. To do it through your AdWords account you’d first navigate to a Content-enabled AdWords campaign, click into an ad group, click on ‘ads’ tab, then click on ‘display ad builder’, then click on ‘rich media and video’, then scroll to the bottom and select ‘click to play video’ and then follow the steps.
In the placements tab, you’d make sure to add http://www.youtube.com as a placement.
